Summers End

Set ‘em Up Jack’s and Health Care Access Clinic are once again partnering for the Summer’s End Cruise In and BBQ Battle. This year’s event is set for Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Broken Arrow Park at the corner of 31st & Louisiana in Lawrence, KS. The day will include the Cruise In Show for area Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles as well as competition BBQ from area teams. No matter whether your passion is classic rides, custom bikes or smoked meats, this event is the perfect family affair. And as always, this day is FREE to the public to enjoy.

Music, concessions, great venue and family fun are all part of the action. Breakfast and Lunch as well as beverages will be available. Specials from local beverage distributors will be featured throughout the show.

Vehicle entry is only $10.00 and entrants can arrive as early as 10:00 am on the day of the show. Judging will be done by the entrants with tally and announcement at 3:00 pm. The show will accept any and all vehicles. Classic or not so Classic; Hot Rods or Rat Rods; Custom or Stock; Cars, Trucks or Motorcycles! If you can cruise in it or on it, we want it in the show. Trophies and Ribbons to the winners. Prizes and give away items for many. Plan to arrive early and spend the day with us.

BBQ competition will feature ribs, pork and brisket. Entry fee of $100 includes a pork butt and brisket for the team to cook. All cooking performed on site with turn in starting at 10:30 am. The park will be available beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 for set up and prep. Trophy and Ribbons to the winners. People’s choice award will be the feature of the show. $7 buys an entry and plate to sample the contestant’s pork and sides. People’s Choice winner receives a prize.  Click here for BBQ rules and click here for BBQ registration.

All proceeds of the show will benefit Health Care Access Clinic and the care of our uninsured neighbors and friends. The work that they do in conjunction with their staff and medical and dental professionals in the community is amazing. But they need our help and yours.
